About Us
My name is Greta Waller. I am a painter. I have been painting for about 15 years. I primarily work with oil paint. My paintings are painted from life. For example, the still life paintings of the ice blocks are painted from actual blocks of ice from a local ice sculptor. The focus in my work is one that balances between representational painting and abstraction. I am represented by a gallery in NYC. I attended Pratt, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and finished schooling with a Masters of Fine Arts at UCLA. I try to sell my work to get it out there into people's homes. Living with art is an amazing experience for the person living with it. I want this for my paintings. I want them to be looked at and enjoyed. I make my own canvases stretching the linen and priming it just like the artists of the 15th century. The linen I find is very special. I search for vintage bolt linens for sale in Europe. The paintings I am selling are only a small example of my work in its entirety. If you do not see a painting you respond to, but enjoy the style of the painting, I would be happy to paint any commission. I enjoy painting new subject matters that are not of my own choosing. My paintings are in homes all over the world. I recently was awarded the "Museum Purchase Award" from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in NYC. As I progress in my career, there is no doubt in my mind I will make an impact on art as I have already made a name for myself. I am as true of an artist as they come. The passion runs in my veins and this comes through in my paintings. Below you will find my CV:
