About UsI'm a mother of 3 and grandmother of 8. My former husband was with the State Department and we spent most of 30 years overseas. We lived in Rawalpindi, West Pakistan; Colombo, Ceylon; Athens, Greece; Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria; Libreville, Gabon; Alexandria, Egypt; Canberra, Australia; Mogadishu, Somalia; Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Bonn,Germany; and Taipei, Taiwan.
We've been through coups, insurgencies, assassinations, hurricanes, monsoons, dealt with malaria, green mambas, food shortages, demonstrations, rationing, water and power outages. My claim to fame is that through all of this, I never lost a suitcase or a child. I did misplace my sense of humor on occasion, but am pleased to report it has always found me.
I have always had a love of collecting, flea marketing, antiquing, and treasure hunting in the souks and marches of the various countries. Glass became my main focus, particularly Early American Pattern Glass, but no little treasure or collectible escapes my interest. I love the history--the story--behind all these treasures and want to find loving homes to care and preserve them.
I strive to increase my knowledge by participating in many on-line collectors' forums, and I belong to the following organizations:
Early American Pattern Glass Society
Vaseline Glass Collectors
National Depression Glass Association
National Toothpick Holder Collectors Society
National Milk Glass Collectors Society
American Glass Salt and Sugar Shaker Collectors
