Our Service PledgeAll orders will be responded to within 24 hours. I guarantee the authenticity of all my items, and will always describe any flaws as fully as possible.
About UsI have been involved in the exciting world of antiques and collectables for over 30 years. In that time, I have worked for a major London auction house, written books and countless magazine articles on antique-related subjects, and have even worked on a BBC antiques show as a valuer. And of course, throughout that time I have also been a passionate collector of everything from antique and vintage teddy bears to silver button hooks.
These days I am mostly interested in what is often referred to in the trade as 'smalls'. This includes jewellery (especially costume jewellery), small items of silver, 'objets de virtu', little boxes, scent bottles, miniature teddy bears, doll house dolls and doll house accessories. Basically, if it is small, old, well-made and either lovely or interesting, I will feel passionate about it!
I am also drawn to items that are imbued with a sense of history. It's for that reason that I love British silver which carries so much information in the form of hallmarks; ideally, a good piece will tell us who made it as well as when and where it was assayed.
My shop's name was inspired by one of my favourite antique items, a gorgeous white Steiff teddy bear called Edwina. She once belonged to a member of the Rockerfeller family but I have been lucky enough to own her since 2002. I used to joke that I would sell Edwina to help put Amy, my daughter, through university but Amy is now over halfway through her three year course and Edwina isn't going anywhere!
Thank you for taking the trouble to read about me and my shop. If you ever want to contact me about anything at all, please go ahead - I'm always happy to hear from customers.
