About Eccleccticc Antiques

Our Service Pledge
I will respond to all enquiries or offers within 24 hours. For completed orders, shipping will be on the next working day unless the buyer is located in an EU country and requests shipping from within the EU (typically Germany) to prevent any Customs charges.
Unless there is an error in my description, returns will be subject to a 10% restocking fee and payment of all shipping costs. In the unlikely event of "damage in transit", I will do whatever is necessary to assist in processing an insurance claim. Needless to say, I will pack very carefully and shipping will be on a fully insured basis.
With the exception of EU purchases, shipping will be at cost by Swiss Post where the charges are based on destination and weight and can be calculated using their website which displays multiple languages. If a non-Swiss carrier is used (at the request of the buyer) the shipping charge will be no greater and possibly less that that quoted by Swiss Post.
Although new to Ruby Lane, I have a perfect (100%) and superlative feedback record on eBay with over 1800 sale transactions over a 10 year period which can be reviewed by prospective purchasers.
About Us
I am British but have lived in Switzerland since 2003. By academic background, I'm a scientist while my professional career was in International Corporate Banking for the most part with Chase Manhattan. I've lived in several countries and travelled extensively worldwide which has enabled me to develop my Collecting interests, primarily Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Since moving to Switzerland, I've married a Swiss lady who works as a Care Professional and, fortunately, shares my passion for antiques. We have a small apartment overlooking Lake Thun barely large enough to house the collection let alone the wife. Usually, we go "antique hunting" together at local auctions, antique markets etc; I call her my "bloodhound" as she has an uncanny ability to make great finds before I've even noticed them.

I've been trading my Collection for several years both with Auction Houses and on eBay primarily as a hobby and in order to fund more purchases; as it happens, I have the Collector's Malady: I seem always to buy more than I sell! This, in turn, is the rationale for my Shop.

All the items offered for sale have for differing periods been in my Collection. I only buy items that impress and interest me and which can be kept permanently should they either fail to sell with a fair profit or which I decide not to part with. Against that background, if an item interests you but you feel my price is a tad too high, then by all means contact me to see if there can be a negotiation. I am also happy to put you in touch with some of my previous buyers should you want a "testimonial". Many of my buyers trade with me on a regular basis and have become friends; in the meantime my feedback history can be seen by all on the eBay ID's: eccleccticc and *eccleccticc*. These names speak for themselves (notwithstanding the spelling)!
