Our Service Pledge

We do our best to represent every piece listed on Ruby Lane clearly, and we welcome all inquiries. We try to respond quickly, usually within 24 to 48 hours. We also have a GIA graduate gemologist who helps us with descriptions and gem identification.

About Us

Design One Jewelers has been in business for over 42 years. We have built and earned our business brick by brick and customer by customer. We are not simply a jeweler in the buying and selling sense. We are consultants, craftsmen, artists, and someone you can truly trust with your jewelry. We don’t want your business for a single jewelry job. We want to be your jeweler, and your family’s jeweler, for life.
Although most identified as being a “mom and pop” jewelry shop… (and we are dog parents to two very spoiled Great Danes), Design One does a bit of everything: custom designs, appraisals, and buying and selling estate jewelry large and small. We deal in gold, platinum, sterling silver flatware, and coins, just to name a few things. Honestly, there isn’t much we haven’t tried to do for our customers and after so many years, there isn’t much we haven’t seen. When in doubt, check us out.
Paul is the owner of Design One Jewelers. With a background as a goldsmith, his skills include repairs, creating jewelry, setting diamonds and gemstones, casting jewelry, and all of the practical hands-on experience that comes with over 40 years of experience in the jewelry business.
Roz is his other half and she keeps Design One evolving. She has designed many pieces for their customers, offering another perspective to a custom creation. The feminine touch! She also does pearl restringing and will attempt many repairs that are on the more costume side. “People can invest quite a lot of money in their costume jewelry. When it breaks there aren’t a lot of choices other than to throw it away. I do what I can to make something wearable again.” Most jewelers won’t touch costume jewelry but Roz never shies away from a challenge. While she cannot guarantee an outcome, she always does her best and has made many happy customers this way. She also keeps trying to incorporate technology into Design One. “We are definitely a throwback business, but not in a bad way. We still like to do things in a more simplified form. Call it old-fashioned but it works for us and we have thousands of customers who would agree.”
