Growing up, I was surrounded by an immediate and extended family of artists. My grandfather, father, my siblings and many of my cousins all drew, sculpted and crafted. They were very involved with anything to do with the arts. I remember being drawn to anything that was creative and only wanting to make art, so naturally after high school, I worked hard to get myself accepted into Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where I received a B.A. in Graphics Packaging. Becoming a single mother, I decided to work from home, and I taught myself to make jewelry in order to provide for my children.
Fast forward to now, I have an outstanding collection of antiques that I have gathered in the last 12 years, from the time I started making jewelry. In 2008, I began selling on a popular handmade website, where I have gained a solid - positive reputation. Throughout this time, I became fascinated more and more with antique Victorian book chain collars, and that began my obsession with Victorian era jewels, an obsession that has only grown. I have quite a collection now and I believe Ruby Lane is the best platform to share on! ~ Ross
