About Us

Welcome to my shop. We offer unique and quality scarves, handbags, cufflinks, vintage jewelry, and interesting collectibles from around the world. I am always on the search for small treasures in off the beaten path locations, and at exclusive Estate Sales. I always hope to be back with a few exciting pieces! Be sure to stop by often.

Please view my favorite links, 'How to tie a full Windsor knot' video is great, with step by step directions. There is also a segment on caring for your neckties. .

If you weren't around in the 1960s or 1970s, look to tie some monochromatic 1960's & 1970's clothes, gold plated chunky accessories, rich colored bead necklaces, and stacks of bracelets, both skinny and wide, into your wardrobe this year. Monochromatic colors and mixed warm beige, cream, pinks, dove gray, yellows, white pastel palettes are the thing and a hot trend for men and women. Offset the look with a pop of light airy color for day or slightly bolder print or black, navy, or deep green for night and you are all set. Check my inventory frequently for some very cool pieces.

Traveling and adventuring are back, so start planning a wonderful trip now! Research off-the-beaten path places, watch Josh Gates Discovery Channel programs, David Hatcher Childress on Ancient Aliens on the History channel, they go to some amazingly beautiful and thought provoking places. I have been watching a lot of movies set in Italy, Croatia, the Greek Isles, and of course Emily in Paris. Inspiring!

Traveling light with just a carry-on and a holdall or backpack is the way to go. No late or lost luggage, and most important no lugging massive bags around! Make the most of a capsule wardrobe by pairing a great collection of scarves with your unique travel color palette. Take along a small array of different multi colored Artisan knit silks, cashmere, an infinity, a favorite silk or two, and a great easy care wash and dry polyester to quickly change from a day outdoors to dinner, a concert, a cathedral, museum, or an evening out. Topping your travel outfit with a scarf completes a polished look even for the most rugged attire, not to mention stretching a small wardrobe. Scarves take up almost no room and can take the place of a necklace, save a bad hair day, look great around a ponytail, or be your best friend when visiting sites that require a covered head, shoulders, arms or legs. Scarves are universal and change an ordinary look into interesting, just ask the French or Italians. It is so fun to collect them on a journey as a constant happy memory. I pack mine in a gallon ziplock bag to keep the fresh, and wrinkle free.

At home or away, if you wear ponytails, or love adding a headband, select a smaller silk chiffon, easy care polyester, or cotton scarf to tie around your ponytail for a chic polished look, a pop of color, or tie under the back of your hair for a great head band. They look great in winter and summer colors.

Beautiful objects, and antiques have been central in my life. My grandparents lived in a massive Antebellum home in Mississippi filled with antiques and interesting European pieces collected during their many years and travels. My parents were avid collectors of Japanese pieces. My first 'real job' after college was in an antique shop off Union Street in San Francisco, Andre's Octavia's Madness, and, with the Internet, life seems to have come full circle with Ruby Lane. The hunt is my passion and my home and wardrobe show it, but I can't keep everything. So please stop by and wander my collections frequently, I am always adding something new.

Placing my treasures in wonderful new homes warms my heart and keeps me going. Every piece has a story and was once loved and needs to be treasured again and incorporated into a new life. Some of my pieces have gone to museums, set designers, both stage and film, costumers, stylists, all parts of the globe, and to homes just like yours.

I am always finding a little something out of the ordinary, or letting go of an item from one of my many collections, so please visit often and subscribe to my shop for notifications of new additions. Thanks for shopping with me, you keep me on the hunt! Be well and stay safe out there! It's a magnificent world!
