Our Service PledgeWe guarantee the authenticity of all of our items. Our goal is complete customer satisfaction.
About UsThe Antique Gallery specializes in art glass, pottery, porcelain, ceramics, paintings, lamps, sconces, sterling silver, bronze, brass, copper, sculptures, flatware, and mirrors. Our art glass is from the finest Continental makers – French Galle, Daum, and Schneider. Our American pottery bears names like Weller, Rookwood, Roseville, and Red Wing. We also have a stunning collection of West German pottery. We breathe the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Our antique Quimper French pottery and Flow Blue English porcelain pieces are quite outstanding. Additionally, you can discover many hard to find items like antique nutcrackers, match safes, binoculars, and inkwells. We specialize in Victorian era items, as well as those from the Arts & Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau Period, Art Deco Period, and the Mid-Century Modern era. We also have a great selection of Asian pottery, particularly Japanese pieces. Last, but not least, we have a fine array of antique jewelry – gold, sterling silver, stones, cameos, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, cuff links, rings, earrings of all kinds, etc. American, English, and French items are the foundation of our store, but our tastes range far and wide.
I first heard about Ruby Lane from my friend, Dick Jones, an antiques dealer in London, England. When shops began turning to the internet for business, I asked him which site he used. Ruby Lane, of course, was his answer. I have been a member ever since. The items on Ruby Lane are of the finest quality and the organization works to protect both the buyer and the seller. Everyone wins. It is a safe and welcoming place to shop and I could not be happier with my initial decision to join this modern day guild of online shops. Please look at as many shops as possible so that you can find the perfect item for the best price possible. There are so many great shops on here!
We believe that we are one of those great shops. The Antique Gallery first opened its doors in December of 1982 as a brick and mortar store in the historic Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. The owner and operator, Gerald Schultz, has maintained the most eclectic shop in the City of Brotherly Love to date. His passion for the decorative arts began well before he became a dealer. He started out as a collector and eventually studied at the famed Barnes Museum under the renowned Director of Education for the Barnes Foundation, Violette de Mazia. Prior to his career as an art and antiques expert, Gerald played professional baseball for the New York Giants minor league team, so feel free to talk sports with us! After working in the corporate world, Gerald was able to finally begin working in the field he had acquired a love for over the course of many years - antiques. Today, we proudly reside in our same main street shop with a global reach that goes further than ever before. Nevertheless, we want to maintain our cozy, small shop atmosphere even with this extended marketplace. Our goal is that when you peruse through our items online, you feel like you are walking through our one of a kind shop, conversing with Gerry about baseball and bronze sculptures, planning your next collection and what you're going to eat for lunch down the street. Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions. We believe that the more a collector knows, the more he or she collects. So, please, COME AND LEARN!
