A green version of this pre-WWII era brooch appears on page 139 of Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff’s “Miriam Haskell Jewelry”. Like the book piece, this brooch is unsigned and features gilt metal stamped leaves, four swags of gilt metal book chains that assure that the beads hang properly, and a pierced metal pin back.
There is a grouping of coral colored beads between the stamped leaves, with larger coral and metal beads hanging beneath. The brooch is in marvelous condition! I see a slight bend in the bar of the safety clasp, which works well, and some of the metal beads have variations in shade. This is more a patina than a flaw.
The piece has a nice weight to it, and measures 3 ½ by 2 ½ inches (8.9 by 6.4 cm).
