A view into exquisite French and German antique dolls

About A Shared Legacy

My name is Karen Wallace and my doll collection was originally owned by my dear mother, Elizabeth Yoder, who passed away in 2001. She collected dolls from the 1960's through 1998. Her collection included many significant makers of antique dolls from Jumeau, Schmitt, Steiner, Bru, Schoenhut, Simon & Halbig, Armand Marseille, SFBJ, China dolls to Madame Alexander dolls. I acquired her collection in 2005 and have remolded the collection toward a greater emphasis on Jumeaus and French Fashion dolls, which are my favorites. I started to really appreciate the beauty and value of these dolls only after her passing. When I was a little girl, I was not allowed to touch or hold these dolls so they were somewhat of a mystery to me. I began my journey of love for them by studying their history, and then selling and buying dolls when I acquired her collection after her passing. The collection keeps her near to me in my heart. I have felt that the dolls need to be seen because of their beauty and I'm simply trying to down-size my collection as I age, hence why I started my shop. I want to note: I am not a professional dealer, but rather a private collector, wife and mother who enjoys collecting these dolls..
