The Brimfield Flea Market is set to open for in-person shopping this week for the first time since 2019. But the virtual option will continue.

“Shop till you drop from your couch,” Klia Ververidis, spokesperson for the Brimfield Show Promoters Association, said on a Facebook Live.

The in-person show starts May 12 but only one field is opening, Brimfield Auction Acres. The Brimfield Barn will also be open.

The virtual options allows for even more booths, which lasts until Sunday.

On Tuesday, Owl’s Nest Emporium kicked off the virtual event with a Ruby Lane booth shop. The Full Monty Oddities will also be participating, among other booths.

It was started in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down the shows completely.

“The first time they canceled the show, nobody knew what was going to happen,” Ververidis said on the Facebook Live. “But we persevered. We carried on.”

The online event has since been held five times over the past year, with another happening this week.

There will also be a live action Wednesday at 2 p.m., which includes in-person but customers can also shop at it virtually.

The action is being held at Hertan’s Field, which is located at 6 Mill Lane Road in Brimfield.
