This is a glorious Period Victorian Necklace. The locket is crafted from 18K Yellow gold with Persian turquoise and rose cut diamonds. The Locket opened from the back which allows for a 4.5mm cavity between the front and the back. The back opens by unlodging it from the casing. The locket is crafted from 18K, not marked but tested. The outer perimeter is fitted with 7 oval cabochons of Persian turquoise. Each piece of turquoise is fitted into a tight bezel setting. The face of the locket is a quartz rock crystal which is flat on the inside and cabochon on the outside. In the center is a 8 point 18K gold star which is adorned with rose cut diamonds. There are 12 diamonds in total which are each individually bead prong set. The center of the star features a round cabochon of Persian turquoise. The star is affixed to the rock crystal with two pin as show from the back view. There is no movement to the star. All of the stones appear to be completely original. The locket is in phenomenal condition. I see no damage, simply minimal wear for a rare piece of its age. The locket is fitted with a soldiered eye loop and a rather hefty soldiered jump ring. We have married this locket with a period victorian chain which tests at 9-10K. The chain is in excellent condition with a barrel clasp which functions without any issues. I am delighted to offer this lovely necklace.
