This is a unique Compact with a gold butterfly etched and gold leafed into the enamel. It is of the Art Deco Era, 1920's/30's. It is crafted from sterling silver with the inside mirror being framed in a brass metal other than that it is solid sterling silver. The enamel on the from is in excellent condition with no loss or damage, minimal wear to the surface. The enamel is white machined enamel with hand gained flowers and a hand etched and gold leafed butterfly. The boarder is etched with lovely flowers on each corner of the front. The sides are heavily decorated. The back shows wear to the ribbed design with a couple of minor dings. The interior mirror is in perfect condition with a gold gilt frame securing it in place. The clasp is at the top of which tastes securely with out the chance of opening on its own if properly closed. The chain is attached to the loop at the top . A fairly detailed and intricate chain. It is hallmarked on the inside Sterling front and confirmed with testing.
