A lovely pair of period Victorian Era Earrings. These earring are crafted from 18K yellow gold. They feature a hindged backing with a clasping post. The top of the earrings are adorned with a dome ball followed by a fairly large multi layered floral design. The large design is affixed to the earring backings The back most portion of the earrings is a scalloped design which is followed by a textured layer and finished with a buttercup setting which the rose cut spinel is bezel set into. Just at the base of the larger design is a smaller design exactly the same as the buttercup design up top and finished off with a dome at the bottom. These earring are old, dating from the mid 1800's and are in fabulous condition with no damage or noted repairs. The back of the clasp is hallmarked and tested as 18K gold with natural clear spinels (some refer to them as white).
********Please look at the third photo to see there is no discoloration to the gold after very lightly cleaning. ********
