This bracelet is in fabulous condition for its age. It dates from the late 1700's early 1800's. It is crafted from 14K yellow gold and natural emeralds. The bracelet has a larger face with a width of 1 1/4" North to South. It bracelet is solid 14K tested in various spots to confirm. The back of the bracelet is rather plane with two etched borders on the top and bottom which follow the bracelet all the way around. The clasp is a tongue and grove which functions as it should. There is little very little movement on the hinge. The front of this bracelet is amazing. Its features three graduated in size domes on both sides of the center. The center of the bracelet is an applied design which is raised and highly decorated with hand etching of fern like patterns. Inside of the outer raised portion of this bracelet is a step up vertical bar with flur de les at each end in form. It is then applied with an additional appliqué from north to south with the same motif of the flur de les. Both crossing designs are adorned with square cut natural emeralds which are in a raised crimped closed back setting. They are hand cut and of slightly varying sizes. All of the emeralds are in fabulous condition with no apparent chipping or cracking, simply natural inclusions as to be expected with this particular stone. I think this bracelet is fabulous and originally purchased it for my self. The fit of this bracelet is meant to be snug but not tight on the lower wrist. It fits me perfectly, but I am more comfortable with a looser fit. Additionally I would recommend at your discretion that your local jewler attach a safety chain as I would personally be worried about it because I am not the most delicate wearer of bracelets, especially using the keyboard all of the time..... The condition is wonderful with minor scratches from wear to the back as photographed but no damage.
