This is such a fabulous duo. The brooch/pendant is from the Georgian era 1820's-1860's. Where as the beads are victorian 1880's-1900's. We made these a marriage some time ago. The beads are all hand cut and graduate slightly in size. They have been restrung and I have to say that the restringing was done with the upmost care. They are reinforced with wire wrap at the ends as this portion wears greatly when worn. The clasp is a 1920's/40's; 14K yellow gold clasp which hooks and clasps internally. .
The Pendant is older and of a different era than the beads. The pendant ~brooch is circa 1820-1860's the C clasp catch folds in and the over long pin can be removed (but I would not suggest doing this). This can be done to enable the brooch to be worn as a Pendant. The pendants' Bail folds in to the under side to enable one to wear it as a Pin. The Bail is open enough to allow the strand of 6.5 mm beads to fit through. The findings on the Brooch test 14K. The brooch has a beautiful polish. The beads do not have as finely polish as the brooch.
All are natural untreated coral of a beautiful orange red color. Very closely match in color brooch/pendant & beads.
