I am thrilled to offer these extraordinary 12-pieces of tea set Limoges Porcelain, decorated a flower basket full of flowers and silk ribbon, raised white embellishments accenting many of the petal edges.
Their quality of porcelain is fine and white, showing a transparent state under the light (photo 9).
The set consists of 1 teapot,1 creamer, 5 cups and 5 sauces.
They are marked by Jean Pouyat (JP) Factory, ca.1862 - early 1900s.
Ps: The Pouyat family was one of the oldest French names connected with the Limoges porcelain industry. Jean Pouyat’s grandfather had a faience factory in the 1760s at St. Yrieix. He also owned KAaolin factory in the area in the late 1700s. Jean’s father, François, operated a hard paste porcelain factory in Paris from the early 1800s until around 1840. Jean Pouyat established a company circa 1842 at Limoges. Jean died in 1849, and the business was carried on by his son. About 1883, the company became known as La Céramique. The Pouyat and William Guérin companies were joined in 1912.
They are in very condition, no chip/ crack/ repair/ hairline, only a sight chip on the bottom of a saucer .
