Fantastic pair of large Chinese cloisonné enamel floor vases with sectional tops. I have never seen vases like this before. They are trumpet or baluster style shapes and remove the top section and you have an ovoid shape. Beautifully decorated and each section has subtle differences so these are not machine made. I was told these were mid 20th century to 1970 and are marked with what I believe is a Xuantong mark.
I got these in Palm Springs and was told the owner purchased these at an Asian import store years ago. The plinths, which are not original but are from the same estate are marked "Warren Imports Laguna Beach Palm Springs." (stands are wider than the vase bases but still look great)
They stand on wood plinths/stands about 25.5" tall and about 24" without stands. The tops sections are about 8.5" tall and 9" wide. The vases without the top sections are about 16" tall. There are 4 panels on each 2 with dragons and 2 with phoenix birds along with many other designs and lotus leaves. They each have a pair of I assume, bronze dragon handles and the top sections have a scalloped rim with decorations on the underside too! The top sections have 2 decorated panels instead of 4 and they are of the same design with a phoenix on one and dragon on the other side.
Condition: very good condition with normal wear one repair on one scallop on the bottom of one top section and a small dent on the enamel inside rim the same top. Some oxidation to bronze as shown in one photo of dragon handle some scratches and very minor bruising. I am only allowed 9 photos so if you desire more, please let me know. I don't think you will be disappointed with these. Wow factor!
