Gorgeous Art Nouveau/Deco period French cameo cut vase by Schneider Glass works. The vase is about 18" tall and the widest part of the lamp has a circumference of about 19". It was drilled at some point in the 40's or 1950's so it has a drill hole which doesn't detract when displayed.
Le Verre Francais is one of the many types of cameo glass made by the Schneider Glassworks in France. The glass was made by the C. Schneider factory in Epinay-sur-Seine from 1918 to 1933. It is a mottled glass, usually decorated with floral designs, and bears the incised signature Le Verre Francais. On the bottom it is hand signed France and Stewart Et C which I believe was a department store in NYC. Some polishing around the drill hole with small nicks but no other damages.
