Here is a fabulous bronze by listed artist Adrien Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902) of a young man entitled Faucheur and stands about 12.5" tall. Nice detail and signed on base along with a brass plaque attached to side of base with date 1899 from the HC Salon. Bronze is in excellent condition for its age with some patina wear and spots but very nice depiction of young man with sickle. Has a classic Art Deco look but made prior to the Deco period. Below is some information on the artist from ask art.
Adrien Étienne Gaudez was born in Lyon, France on the 9th of February 1845 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on the 23rd of January 1902. He was a student of François Jouffroy at the Ecoled de Beaux Arts* in Paris in 1862. Adrien Gaudez made his debut in the Paris Salon* in 1864.
