From a recent Rancho Santa Fe estate, we have this amazing sterling silver small teapot with repousse flowers and scrolls and footed with birds head on the spout. It is Victorian and is hallmarked as shown and I believe the date mark is 1840. It is about 4.5" to the top of the handle and about 7.75" long. I cannot make out the makers mark as all I can see is the last letter M in a rectangle.
It has a dark wood finial and handle and weighs 12 oz or 340 grams on my postal scale. It is in amazing condition considering its age with normal wear and what I love, aside from the beauty is the etched lion in the cartouche on the right side.
