Mitchell, Vance & Co. New York Extension Gasolier patents 1866 and 1867

An important American Gasolier in the Egyptian Revival Style, that has never been electrified, with reproduction period cut glass globes, and a period slant opal shade in the center. This fixture could be pulled down by the brass ring finial to lower and read under the light in the evening. Fixtures with this type of extension system are most rare.

Made of brass/spelter, original finish has been polished. I placed battery operated candles inside the shades to illuminate.
