Tiffany & Co. Sterling Fish Server - John Polhemus ORIENTAL pattern 1855
John Polhemus or Polhamus was commissioned to make many attractively patterned pieces for Tiffany & Co. the last half of the 1800's ~~
This Fish Server is marked on the reverse side of the stem ~ JP. Patent 1855 Tiffany & Co. Sterlling.
This engraved Fish Server, in the well-received ORIENTAL pattern, measures 11-5/8ths inches and weighs 3.5 ounces~~
The bright-work designs hand-carved on the blade are quite elaborate and 'lively ~~~ leaves, scrollwork and scallops, which mirror the scalloped edge of this beautiful piece~~
There is a simple Gothic 3-letter monogram, S.E.T. and no signs of wear save for 3 small scratch lines towards the end of the multi-curved underside of the blade.
