This fun little item is a bit hard to describe so here goes

It is a lidded glass for stashing a sip or two of sake in a pocket or kimono sleeve.

2-1/2-inches

The glass is in a pretty little bamboo basket case with a drawstring silk top. The design in the silk is a monsho of wisteria blossoms,, must be a family crest.

The sake glass has a little wooden lid with a knob. This lid stays in place with the silk drawstrings are pulled tight.

to add to the amusement of this, on the underside of the wooden lid is a tiny mirror...perhaps for the imbiber to check to see if his/her face has a sake red glow yet. The mirror is not broken. Those marks are reflections

collected in a Kyoto antiques shop in 1970
