This is an amazing, all original, Georgian 15 Karat gold (gently acid tested) chain. It is a wonderful find, at a really great price! There are a portion of Georgian chains sold that are made of pinchbeck (gold in color but made from a compound of copper and zinc) priced the same or higher as my 15K gold ones! These beauties are getting harder and harder to find, especially well priced ones (without soldered links). British in origin, this chain measures 45.5 inches inches long and the links average 4.4mm each. All links are hand done in a textured pattern. The barrel clasp is original to the chain and I do not see any signs or solder marks at all. These chains were made and meant to be 18K gold, but because of advances in technology today they usually test between 14-15K (as this one dose), so that is what I have listed it as. The chain is light to the touch, and the pattern of each link is the same. Some of the links are smoother than others due to wear and age but over all this chain is in very good antique condition considering its age! The chain weighs 27.5 grams and has a beautiful golden hue. Please note this listing is for the larger chain as last photo shows both Georgian chains layered. Questions always welcome. Please do study photos as I utilize them as a large part of the item description.
