Portrait Painting of Benjamin Franklin Oil on Board Presidential

I just saw this is a copy of the painting from the Oval Office in the White House.

This is an original antique painting, circa 1820 – 50, painted on an old art board. It depicts the sitter Benjamin Franklin born in Boston Massachusetts USA in 1706 – 1790. he if a famous American, known for his scientific work, famous for experiments in electricity, and his image on bank notes. It is framed in a gold gilt frame. There is a signature on the back of the frame Claris Rogers, faintly on pencil.

I sent a photo of this painting to the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery, they felt it was done not in his lifetime, they kept the image of this painting for their records.

It is dirty, in fair good condition, it measures 15 x 12 inches with the frame, 10 x 7 ¼ inches without the frame.
