Porcelain Miniature Portrait Painting Silver Gold Buckle
This is a 19th century hand painted BUCKLE with a portrait of a regal woman of high standing. She is wearing a dark purple bonnet with Ostrich feathers,a strand of large pearls, I believe a pomander, vinaigrette on a chain around her neck, you can see her green velvet dress is lined with a fine fur trim. Her eyes and lips are superbly done. I believe this is work could be done by master painter, Wagner, or similar standard of artist. This is most likely made in Germany, by the famous KPM porcelain factory. We cannot take it out of the frame to see the back to confirm this.
It has a like a 9 carat rose gold frame, that is applied to a silver back and buckle. It is in good condition, very light scratching on the surface. It measures 3 ½ x 2 ¾ inches. Weighs 91 grams.
