Coconut Silver Three Piece Tea Set Teapot Colonial
This is a late 19th century TEAPOT, CREAMER and SUGAR BOWL, made from unmarked 800 – 900 silver standard silver, mounted on natural Coconut Shell. It is hand engraved, primitive decorative work. Possibly made in the East Indies, for the Dutch market. It is colonial made for the European taste, in a tropical setting. It has been never used. The silver has been pinned onto the coconut shell. The hinge is in working order, the lid closes, but not tightly. The spout on the creamer is not fully attached. It is a three piece matching set. The teapot stands 6 ¾ inches tall x 6 ¾ inches wide from spout to handle. The creamer 5 ¾ inches tall, the sugar bowl is 6 ½ inches tall.
