Offered is a Davenport transfer printed coffee can and saucer in a pattern known as Nightingale. This would date from the 1830's to about 1840. On the bottom of each piece is the mark from Davenport along with the name of the pattern within a printed mark. This delicate and busy decoration draws attention on display.
Dimensions: The can is 2 3/8" high and the diameter is 2 3/8". The saucer is 1 3/16" high and the diameter is 5 1/4".
Condition: Excellent. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs and the glaze is smooth and unworn. The print is especially sharp and presents a nice color combination with the pink.
Early period antiques are quite old, were made to be used, and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing flaw or repair. While this is normal and to be expected, I note any known issues in the condition description.
