These small, but exquisite dogs date back to the mid-1800's. Made in the Staffordshire region of England, these figurines were most likely intended to represent a Dandie Dinmont Terrier, which was one of the very popular breeds at that time. At 4" tall x 2 1/2" long x 1 3/4" wide, these dogs are in excellent condition with some wear to the gilt on the bells of their collars. While the appeal of Staffordshire figurines are in their charming folk style, depicting everyday life in the English countryside, they also add a very elegant and more formal touch to the decor of a dining room, or even a master bedroom. Place these dogs next to a bowl of roses, and you are immediately drawn into the feeling of an afternoon tea at a country estate!
