A large antique Dutch nautical brass ships porthole heavy duty with safety glass of 8 mm thick.
Probably this porthole comes from an old ocean liner of the famous Dutch, Holland-America line.
The porthole is original and has years of service on an ocean liner. Over the years, the glass is weathered and the brass what affected by the salt and sand. Made in Holland by Wiga Hard Glass Company. ca, 1890/1910.
Including 8 copper bolts and nuts.

H.K. van Wingerden founded in 1883, on 29th January, the company that still bears his name. The company started the production with brass castings for scales. Around the year 1900 the, at that time in Gorcum based firm, started with brass castings and portholes for the maritime industry under the name Wigo. The demand for Wigo's products increased and orders came in from all over the world. Wigo moved in the year 2000 in a complete new building with large production facilities and modern offices. The new facility is located at Vuren, close to Gorcum.
