Rare antique late Victorian 10k mutli color gold with seed pearls lovers locket with sepia tone photographs of couple, 1890s. Beautiful larger pendant locket features yellow bloomed gold frosted finish has raised applied rose gold flower and scroll work, and green gold leaf, Accented by seven tiny seed pearls as well as bead work. The original pendant bail has a very generous opening to accommodate even a very thick chain. The hinge is on the left side of the locket, so this opens from left to right. This opens to reveal both original sepia tone photographs of a handsome young couple, with the glass inserts and bezels completely intact. The locket measures 1-7/16" x 1-1/8" not including the length of the decorative 9/16" x 3/8" bail. The bail opening measures 3/8" x 1/4". Typical of authentic antique Victorian jewels (particularly hand crafted pieces such as this), the piece is not gold hallmarked, but it has been carefully tested by two separate independent jewelers for karat fineness and is guaranteed minimum 10k solid gold in content and purity. In outstanding well cared for condition with no issues to note. Circa 1890.
