Antique Victorian 10k rose gold opal carved band ring, size 6-1/2, signed JR Wood. Measures 6.8mm in width, band tapers to 2.3mm at the back of the ring shank, weighs 2.2 grams. Features a round cabochon opal 2.2mm in diameter. Set into a star cut hand carved band with diagonal ribbed design and hand engraved flourishes. Typical of hand crafted jewels of this age, the ring is not karat hallmarked, and has been carefully tested by two separate bench jewelers, and are guaranteed to have a minimum 10k solid gold content/ purity. Nice strong pink gold hue. In excellent well cared for condition, circa 1900. See the last image for information about the maker.
