Stunning hand crafted antique Edwardian 14k yellow gold marquise cut 6 carat citrine and seed pearl ring, size 5-1/2. Big dramatic presence, extremely well made and heavy construction. Measures 1-1/16" long x 11/16" width, with a side profile of 1/2" off the top of the finger and a wide band that tapers to 3mm at the back of the ring shank. Weighs a very sturdy 10.4 grams. The natural untreated citrine quartz is a beautifully marquise cut with perfect points. The citrine measures 20mm x 9.5mm x 6.5mm (6 carats) and is mounted into a multi pronged claw setting, a truly gorgeous presentation. It has a very pleasing golden-topaz color and is surrounded by a bezel of seventeen silvery-pink 3mm diameter seed pearls, each prong set. The split shank rises up to a open pierced arcade gallery. The back is as pretty as the front, real attention to detail. Hallmarked "14K" on the inside of the ring shank. In excellent condition, The citrine is in exceptional condition, showing ever so slight abrasion on the very back of the keel. This is a completely hand crafted ring, and every one of the pearls have drill holes- perhaps from a strand once worn long ago, and then repurposed brilliantly into this miniature piece of art work. You can only see the drill holes on a couple of the pearls, and you really have to look closely for them, as the way they are positioned, they are all hidden behind the mounting. All over in outstanding condition and extremely well babied over time. Citrine is the birthstone for the month of November. Truly lovely, circa 1910.
