Lovely sterling silver desk calendar made by the Gorham Company. It has a very heavy, five troy ounce, fancy repousse framing of the calendar. There are three large celluloid cards with each configured to give four of the months. Four lower cards can be arranged to depict the first day appearing in seven different locations. In this way, the calendar can be adjusted on the first of each month to show the correct configuration for that month. The mark on the back shows the Gorham anchor along with "Sterling" (see photo). A wonderful decorative and fine quality novelty! Circa: Late 1800's. Dimensions: 5"H x 6"W x 1"D. Condition: Excellent unpolished condition. It would shine up beautifully but for the customer that appreciates old tarnish we couldn't put this back on! Some of the lettering on the celluloid inserts is faded with some old tape marks. Price: $495.
