Wonderful Victorian German painting on porcelain. It features a bare chested lovely woman with roses on her lap and hands. She is wearing a flowing white gown, double strand necklace, earrings and an enamel beaded headband. The title on the back is “Die Ersten Rosen” (“The First Roses) – see photo of back. Below that is more writing which I assume is the artist signature. It is framed is a gorgeous three dimensionally carved fancy gilt wood frame from the period. As is almost always the case in such frames with this age, there are some minor chips and cracks in the frame. A stunning painting with a wonderful subject! Circa: Mid 1800′s. Dimensions: 17″ H x 13″ D (frame). 7.5″ H 5.5″ D (porcelain). Condition: Porcelain and painting are in excellent condition. Frame has normal wear and retains the original gilt patina. Price: $1450
