Victorian oak platform rocker with the “Hunzinger Duplex Spring” mechanism (see photo of original label). This piece has an interesting and unique design like most pieces designed by George Hunzinger. It has a rope twist frame that features a football shaped top pillow and a shield shaped back. An arch of beehive spindles join the top to the back. It originally had two castors on the front but the lack of those makes no difference in the functioning and comfort of this extraordinary piece. An interesting and utilitarian rocker by one of the most innovative furniture designers of the Victorian Era! Circa: 1890. Dimensions: 41.5″ H x 26″ W. Condition: Great original finish with a rich honey colored patina. Mechanism works well. The fabric was replaced in the recent past and is in usable condition with minor staining to the headrest. Price: $795
