Outstanding quadruple silver plated lamp by James W. Tufts Boston. It has a gorgeous Aesthetic Victorian raised design on the base featuring leaves and flowers set into a hammered metal background. The corners are curved and fancy handles are made of slightly graduated joined circles. The base was electrified in the past with the original burner removed and an electric one inserted. The original double wick adjusters made by Plume & Atwood remain. The base is signed in the middle of the base bottom where it was drilled during electrification (see photo). A stunning round cream to peach colored globe sits on top of the ring and is beautifully decorated with painted birds and flowers. The lamp comes with an glass chimney. A really gorgeous Victorian lamp with a superior design and shade made by one of the best silver plating companies of the time! Circa: 1880. Dimensions: 17″ H (to top of globe) x 7.5″ Diameter of globe. Condition: Silver plated base has old or original tarnish. This could be polished if you desired. The globe is in excellent condition. The wires have been cut so this is all set to be rewired. Price: $1650
