Magnificent bronze lamp. It has an intricate curved open work design that features two child warriors. I believe the frame was originally gilt bronze while the warriors are metal. The lamp has a ruffle edged hobnail cranberry glass shade and a gorgeous cranberry glass bell that hangs from the top. A previous owner had it electrified and, I believe, added the marble base to make it into an attractive and unusual table lamp. Originally it was either a newel post lamp or a hanging lamp with the gas going through the tubes on the interior of the fancy side design. The owner has the option of converting it back to it’s previous use or using it as it is. Either way, it is very impressive and of fabulous quality and design! Circa: 1860. Dimensions: 27″ H x 18 ” W. Condition: Glass is in good condition. Hints of the original gilt remain on the metal frame. The top of one of the spears in the child’s hand is missing. Recently electrified. Price: $2450.
