I bought these here from another shop owner about 15 years ago, and although I craved them at the time, I find I don't use them at all! So I am in search of their new owner, maybe someone with a collection of Corn King.
Original Shawnee Corn King bowls, numbers 5, 6 and 8.
Number 5 has a small glaze bubble fault in the yellow corn near top of one leaf, see photos. It measures 5 1/8" across, (outside measurement). Approx. 2 3/4" tall.
Number 6 is perfect. It measures 6 3/8" across, approx. 3 1/4" tall.
Number 8 has a large factory chip in the foot, which is glazed. Also a 1" long crack at the rim, both inside and out - please see photos. It also has crazing present, both inside and on the base. It measures 7 7/8" across, approx. 3 5/8" tall.
In the photos of the marks, you will see what looks like glaze damage in the lower right of all 3 photos. It's a reflection, there is NO glaze damage other than the one bubble fault mentioned in Number 5, and faults in Number 8.
They are shown in numerical order.
