Complete 7 piece porcelain cake set, No Damage, marked Nippon, hand painted matching pattern service for six. Set has master cake platter and individual servings for six. Decoration and style has Art Nouveau and Art Deco influences. See photos. The cake plate is 11" in diameter and the individual plates are 6 1/4" in diameter, maker is Nippon, Morimura Bros., circa 1906-1908. The backstamp is "Komaru" which was placed on porcelain intended for export. No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The handles on the cake plate are pierced and the border is outlined in gold. A small dimple on the master. There is a 1/8" light blue outer band with a 3/4" border of pink peony, dogwood and blue forget me not in a floral garland. All of the flowers represented are symbolic in Japanese culture. A geometric pattern divides the border into four repeats of the design. Gold leaf outlining border is worn on three serving plates.
