Hand painted salt and pepper set, antique American glass, circa 1890-1900, 3 7/8" high, 1 1/2" in diameter, mold blown, enamel hand painted on the front. Cylindrical shaped with creased neck. Tops have the customary roughness from when the shakers were taken out of the mold. This is normal and supposed to be this way. Colors are earth tones. Tops are old and have a few dents, but better to have OLD tops and not repro. Maker is unknown, probably from the New England area where these were predominate during this period. Many were made as blanks, Mt. Washington was a major manufacturer and then these were hand painted by other firms. No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Guaranteed Old. See photos.
