American Victorian biscuit jar or barrel, close to MINT condition, No damage, chips, cracks or repairs. This Mount Washington Crown Milano glass biscuit jar demonstrates the company's great craftsmanship. The floral painting on front and back are excellent. Refined detailing with free hand decorating.
The jar shades from a muted very pale yellow to ivory color at the base. Has rope turned handle attached to unique armature extending from silver plate neck ring. Silver plate lid is floral embossed, knob on the lid is secure. No dings or dents. The lid fits the base perfectly and is original. See photos they are included as part of the description. There is very minute rub wear to plating on the neck ring. No issues with the glass. This biscuit jar should make any collector happy

11" tall from bottom to upright extend handle. The body tapers from the top to the bottom. Aperture at the top is 4 ¼”, porcelain is 5” ring is affixed with plaster as it should be. Base is 4” diameter.

Mount Washington Glass Works operated from 1870 until 1894. Frederick Shirley formulated Crown Milano for Mt. Washington Glass Company in 1884.
