Shoe polish bottle, French Gloss by Whittemore of Boston, 3 fluid ounce bottle, 4 1/2" tall, mold blown, with collared ring top, short neck, sloped shoulders, base is 2" by 1 1/4" with rounder corners. Early versions of this product/bottle had mold numbers on the bottom. This one is embossed 4. Many of these bottles were made by Lyndeborough Glass Co. of South Lyndeboro N.H. circa 1866-1888. Glass is clean and clear, a faint green hue, very microscopic residue in the bottom. See photos. Start collecting there are many variations of this shoe dressing bottle to collect.
