Seth Thomas mantel clock, antique American Adamantine clock, completely restored, 100% original and in mint condition. Not a single crack or chip in the two tone marbleized Adamantine case. The clock looks and runs like the day it was made in April of 1894.
There is a mint original factory label and date stamp. All four cast metal feet retain their original bronze finish along with the two decorative metal pieces flanking either side of the dial. All 6 pieces are original. Very strong original dial. Clock is 16" long, 7" wide, 11" tall. The dial diameter is 4 1/2" minute track to minute track, 5 1/2" overall. The marked Seth Thomas movement is original to the case. The clock is week duration. It announces the correct hour and chimes once at the half hour. Chime is a very deep resonating tone. An excellent sounding American mantel clock.
The movement was professionally rebuilt. It was completely disassembled and cleaned ultrasonically, all pivots were resurfaced and polished on a lathe. Eight bronze bushings were installed in the worn pivot holes, the verge was stoned and polished, then trued to the escape wheel. Pendulum has a very strong amplitude.
