Advertising tin, Sir Walter Raleigh Smoking Tobacco key wind humidor, 5" tall, 5" diameter, container made by Continental Can Corp, marked three "C's" and 64. Side is marked 14 ounces Brown & Willliamson Tobacco Corporation. It was in 1927 that the Brown and Williamson families sold the company and it was reorganized as the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation. In, 1925 they purchased the Sir Walter Raleigh brand that had been marketed on a regional basis by the J.G. Flynt Tobacco Company since 1884. Brown & Willliamson began distributing it nationally, as a result Sir Walter Raleigh eventually became one of their hallmark brands.
This lithograph tin has been cleaned and waxed. Colors are bright, very minor wear, top has aged patina. Excellent display tin. Has Tobacco Workers International Union label. NO dings or dents. See photos.
