Mantel clock, signed Pittsburgh Lamp and Brass Co. case, cast metal with gold gilt mantel clock with griffins and winged cherub. Easel style, it can be placed and displayed anywhere. Excellent detail on the case. The cast spelter case is marked PL & B Co., #47, see photo. This is the Pittsburgh Lamp & Brass Co., of Pittsburgh, PA. Circa 1880.

The original 30 hour movement was well beyond repair. It is now fitted with a German micro quartz movement and runs for one year on an "N" battery. Battery not included they are readily available. The time keeping accuracy is within a few seconds a month. Clock case is 11" tall, 9" wide, the dial is 2" diameter. Clock is in very fine condition, ,it is a real antique clock that is now a functional and practical decorative piece. NO damage and NO repairs to the case. Now is the time to start collecting these antique American novelty clocks, suitable for desks or even the bedroom (no audible ticking) and they require no winding. At Drury House Antiques we are offering 20 of these unique clocks at prices that go back 30+ years. All are in working order. We do not sell junk, damaged or clocks that require an apology for their condition.

For the serious collector we have over 80 wall, mantel, desk or table clock, in various woods and finishes, even porcelain. All have been meticulously restored, by me, professional clockmaker, to their original condition. ALL are on SALE.

All the cast spelter or white metal cases were originally copper plated then gold plated. None of these figural or novelty clocks were ever made of solid brass, bronze or copper, regardless of who the American maker was or who said it is. They simply cannot be polished and spray painting the case destroys the value. See last photos for some but not all of our restored antique clocks to choose from. (INV #2782), To purchase with credit cards please use PAYPAL. It is safe, secure, and simple to use. The good news is you do not need a Paypal account.
