Nippon Porcelain, Hand Painted Nappy or Lemon Dish painted lakeside scenic. Marked Nippon porcelain. Turn of the century home accessory. Dish is 6 1/4" in length, 1 1/8" tall and 5" wide, height to top of handle 2 1/2". Dish has Nippon porcelain backstamp #118 in magenta, "The Yamato". See photos. Nippon nappy dish or sometimes referred to and used as a lemon dish, shaped with elevated rim at the base and relief in the interior. The base has a single ring of gold leaf and the rim of the dish is hand painted gold leaf border 1/4" wide with scrolling and beading. The gold leaf handle is applied. Scene is very fine decalcomania with hand painted enhancement. Soft hues of blues and a hint of pink. The porcelain is off white with a gray tint as the earlier Nippon pieces were. No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. See photos.
