Chest of Drawers Cherry and Birds Eye Maple 1840 American Empire period, chest has original finish, it has a large top drawer with three graduated drawers below it, all drawers have original matching turned wood mushroom knobs. Chest is 45" tall to the top, top is 44" by 21 3/8", 3/4" thick top board with 5" tall shaped back splash. Back legs are straight, front legs are turned, sides are panelled cherry. Drawer fronts are solid maple. Each drawer has brass keyhole escutcheon. This is a solid piece of Vermont furniture, excellent condition for age, no damage or repairs, some nicks and wear along edge of the top. Drawers glide and are smooth when drawn open. See photos.
