Glass Sugar Shaker circa 1894 -1898, made by Consolidated Glass Co. Sugar shakers are often referred to as sugar sifters or the English term of muffineer. This one is antique American glass, the Argus Swirl pattern, made between 1894 - 1898, by the Consolidated Lamp and Glass Co, of Coraopolis, Pa. It is 3 1/4" tall, base 2 1/8", diameter is approximately 4". Sugar shaker is Opaque white glass, mold blown, with Argus Swirl design, a transfer pattern applied at the neck, design is random size circles with flowers and tear drop of circles at each swirl in the glass. Top is old and original. No dings but some faint wear to metal finish. See photos. This shaker is one of the most difficult to locate. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
